Injectors 2-4-6

Injection Electronics (Motronic Control Unit). Wiring Diagram:

DME Control Unit Harness Connector:

1. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, disconnect the DME control unit harness connector (control unit is located in the glove Box) see COMPONENT LOCATIONS.
2. Connect a FUSED jumper between brown wire (terminal 36) of the DME control unit connector and ground.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the run (ON) position and MOMENTARILY connect a FUSED jumper between brown/yellow wire (terminal 17) of the DME control unit connector and ground.
4. Listen and feel fuel injectors 2-4-6.

^ If all three fuel injector valves click, remove fused jumpers. Replace the DME control unit.

^ If one or more fuel injection valves do not click, remove FUSED jumper at brown/yellow wire (terminal 17)

5. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, disconnect the harness connectors from fuel injector valves 2, 4, and 6.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the run (ON) position and measure the voltages of each fuel injector connector.

^ Brown/yellow wire (terminal 1) and ground = battery voltage If not check wire to the DME main relay for open.
^ Brown/yellow (terminal 1) and red/white wire (terminal 2) = 0 volts If not check Brown/yellow wire to terminal 17 of DME control unit connector for a short to ground.
^ Red/white wire (terminal 2) and ground = 0 volts If not check wire to terminal 17 of the DME control unit connector for a short to voltage.

7. Reconnect a FUSED jumper between terminal 17 of the DME control unit harness connector and ground.

^ Brown/yellow (terminal 1) red/white wire (terminal 2) = battery voltage If not check brown/white wire to terminal 17 of connector for an open.

^ If all the voltages are correct, remove fused jumpers and replace the defective fuel injector(s).
