Canister Purge Control Valve: Description and Operation

Throttle Switch/Purge Valve Location:

The purge valve which is located near the intake manifold, controls the purging of fuel vapors from the gas tank through the charcoal canister. Activation of the valve is speed and load dependent and is controlled by the DME control unit via the purge valve relay.
