Fan Clutch: Testing and Inspection

REPLACING FAN CLUTCH


Remove fan.






Reasons for Replacing the Fan Clutch:

a) Hub has seized - fan of stopped engine can not be turned or is hard to turn.

b) Fan clutch has axial/radial play or is losing oil.

Check the switching points with a Vibrocard.
Unscrew the fan mounting bolts and take off the fan clutch,
