MODELS: 325iX

Situation: The overvoltage protection relay has been eliminated from the 325iX model as of 4/89 production. This relay is no longer required since there is an overvoltage protection diode incorporated in the ABS control unit.

This control unit (P/N 34 52 1 159 363) can be installed in an earlier production 325iX (4/88 and later) that is equipped with 1.3 Motronic. However, the control unit (P/N 34 52 1 158 924) used in production 4/88 through 3/89 cannot be used in vehicles produced 4/89 and later.

325iX vehicles produced prior to 4/88 must only use control und P/N 34 51 1 156 241.
