Water Leaks from Front Latch

MODELS:
E30 Convertible

Situation:
Some convertibles may experience a water leak in the area of the front latch assembly. This may be caused by the plastic pin covers of the front latches being damaged or missing, allowing water to get past the pins and leak into the interior. Replacement pin covers are available through the Parts Department under part number 54 31 1 971 255.

Procedure:
Remove the old pin covers, if present, by pulling off with pliers. Pop the new covers into place on the pins.

Warranty Status:
Covered under the applicable BMW New Car Limited Warranty.
