SUBJECT:
Noise (Rattle or Vibration) from Right Front Area of Sunroof

MODELS:
3 Series

Situation:
An intermittent noise (rattle or vibration) can be heard coming from the right front area of the sunroof when under acceleration or going over bumps. This can be caused by the sunroof cable guide tube contacting the sunroof drain tube or the clamp holding the drain hose to the tube.

Correction:
- Release the actuating arms of the wind deflector, remove the retaining screws, and lift off the deflector.

- Remove the two screws holding the front trim section to the roof frame.

- Remove both sun visors and clips.

- Pull down door opening trim in the area of the front trim section.

- Remove the two screws holding the front mount of the passenger's grab handle.

- Pull front trim section down and back for enough to allow the headliner to be pulled away from the door opening on the right side.

- Carefully pull down the headliner on the right side far enough to allow access to the area of the drain hose on the right side.

- Slit an approximate 2" long piece of vacuum hose along one side, and apply a bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the inside.

- Slip the hose over the cable guide tube in the arm of the area of the drain tube.

- Re-install all components.
