SUBJECT: Body Crossmember Tube

MODELS: E36


Situation: When performing repairs that require removing the body crossmember tube (that runs between the frame rails and below the bell housing area), it is imperative that this tube be installed before the vehicle is driven. If the tube is not installed and the vehicle is test driven, it is entirely possible that stresses on the chassis could cause the mounting points not to line up with the corresponding holes in the tube.
