Fig. 7 Removing cv joint from shaft:
1. Remove output shaft from final drive and rear axle shaft.
2. Remove sealing cover, then the circlip.
3. Remove dust cover clamp, then the cover.
4. Press output shaft from cv (constant velocity) joint, ensuring bearing inner race is resting on a suitable counter pressure plate, Fig. 7. Do not disassemble cv joint.
5. Place dust cover and inside cover on output shaft, and ensure joint is installed with collar on inner race facing output shaft.
6. Clean threads of joint to remove grease, then apply a suitable sealant, ensuring sealant does not enter ball passages.
7. Press on joint with cap, then install circlip. If only one side was disassembled, sealing cover of other side has to be removed to press on joint.
8. Pack joint and dust cover with a suitable grease, then clean sealing surface of dust cover.
9. Apply a suitable adhesive to large diameter end of dust cover, then secure with new clamps.
10. Apply a suitable sealant to sealing cover, then install.
11. Reinstall output shaft.
