5-speed transmission with overdrive 5th gear ratio.

The housing is a single aluminum casting, with no intermediate housing or intermediate countershaft bearing. All gears have lock ring synchromesh, including reverse.

Precision tooth machining and broad teeth ensure increased effective tooth meshing overlap and greatly reduced gear noise.

New synchromesh components have been introduced. Cooling fins on the transmission housing lower the oil temperature by approx. 5~C (9~F).
