Interior Equipment & Central Body Electronics Information

Interior equipment

The interior has been entirely redesigned, with an even higher standard of driving-area ergonomics. The new car's increased overall dimensions provide more space and freedom of movement, particularly for rear-seat passengers.

The driver's area has been further developed with a view to improving clarity and ease of control. All switches have illuminated function and identification symbols.

Trim panels and surfaces have soft finishes which are pleasant to the touch. Ample storage space for odds and ends is provided. The glove box is lockable, using the car's one-key system.
The one-piece molded roof lining has a sound-absorbing surface layer. Roof mounted grab handles can be hinged down when needed. All trim elements have been optimized for minimum noise levels and form part of a harmonious overall color scheme.

New seats of anatomically correct shape are upholstered in polyurethane foam, with zones of different firmness. The front seat bases have additional steel springs.

Expanded seat adjustment ranges are provided with conveniently located adjustment switches along the outside edge of the seat.

The upper seat belt loops on the B-pillar are varied in height automatically when the front seats are moved forward and back.

An ergonomically positioned rear seat-belt system has the latches on the outside, for a much-improved, safer belt position when in use.
