SUBJECT: Centering Bushings and Flange Plate Adaptors for Stationary Wheel Balancers
In conjunction with our previous Service Information bulletin 04 02 85 (981), we are pleased to inform you of another source of centering bushings for stationary wheel balancers.
As noted before, a centering bushing instead of a cone is an absolute requirement when balancing wheels and tires. This is because the centering hole in a wheel is not accurate enough. With todays' state-of-the-art wheel and tire technology, using the appropriate equipment has become critical.
In addition, a flange plate adaptor (see illustrations on back) is also required to be used with the centering bushing. This combination assures the maximum accuracy and protects alloy wheels from cosmetic damages.
Flange plate adaptors can be obtained in a fixed stud version (either 4 or 5 stud hole wheels) or in a combination form having removable/plug-in type studs for wheels having different stud hole locations and pitch circle diameters.
Both of these items, centering bushings and flange plate adaptors, are available for all makes and types of wheel balancers.
