R&I Steering Pump

REMOVING AND INSTALLING POWER STEERING PUMP







If applicable, discharge pressure reservoir by operating brake pedal about 20 times. Draw off hydraulic fluid in tank.

Disconnect lines.

Plug open connections with dust caps.

Installation:
Replace seals
Fill and bleed hydraulic system.

Important!
Never reuse drained hydraulic fluid,



Loosen nut (1) and release drive belt by turning toothed element (2). Unscrew bolts.






Unscrew bolts.






Installation:
Tighten drive belt before tightening bolts. Tighten toothed element with 8 to 8.5 Nm (5.8 to 6.1 ft. lbs.) and tighten nut.

Check drive belt tightness with Special Tool 115....






Hook (4) rests on tooth tip.
