SUBJECT: Digital Multimeter - Fluke Model #27

The Fluke model #27 multimeter has several features that can be useful in diagnosing intermittent battery draws.

^ high amperage capacity -10A constant -20A for 30 seconds

^ MIN/MAX-stores the lowest and highest reading observed which can be displayed at a later time
With these features this multimeter can be left hooked up to a vehicle for an extended period of time to determine if the vehicle has an intermittent high battery draw.

Note: When connecting the multimeter to the vehicle to perform such a test, it is important to not interrupt the vehicle electrical circuit by disconnecting the battery cables.

An easy way to hook up the meter to read amperage is to connect one lead to the negative battery post and connect the other lead to a known good ground point. Then disconnect the negative battery cable where it connects to the body of the car.

This meter has a suggested retail price of $ 259.00 and is available through local electrical supply distributors.

For the location of your Fluke distributor call 1-800-44 FLUKE.
