SUBJECT:
Ellipsoid Headlights/Foglights

MODELS:
All vehicles so equipped

Situation:
Moisture collects in ellipsoid headlights and foglights.

Cause:
The ellipsoid headlights and foglights are designed with a ventilation system. Because the lights operate at extremely high temperatures, condensation may occur when the lights are turned OFF.

This condensation will evaporate within minutes after the lights are turned ON. Since the reflector is made of plastic, there is no possibility of rust forming inside a light assembly. If the condensation collects to a height of 2 cm (3/4 inch) or greater, this could be an indication of a leaky light assembly. If it is determined that the light assembly is leaking, it must be replaced.
