This Service Information bulletin replaces S.I. 65 03 86 (1200) dated April 1986. It includes additional testing information.

Please remove and discard S.I. 65 03 86 (1200) dated April 1986 from your S.I. binder.

SUBJECT: On-Board Computer II

MODELS: All so equipped

Situation: Investigation of returned On-Board Computer II control panels reveal that these units have been replaced when the only defect is non-illumination of the keyboard or digital display.

Please check these bulbs wfth an ohmmeter (infinite resistance indicates an open circuit) before replacing the OBC II module.

Replacement bulbs (see illustrations) are available as spare parts.
Replacement of the On-Board Computer II control panel for this defect will not be accepted under warranty.
Warranty
Status: Covered under the terms of the BMW New Car Limited Warranty of
3 Years/36,000 Miles.
