SUBJECT: Exhaust System Rattle/Vibration Noise

MODELS: 1988 M5, M6


Situation: Some isolated cases have been found where the forward exhaust hanger flange may break, causing a rattle/vibration noise.

Since this does not affect the performance of the exhaust system in any way, the procedures which follow provide a method of exhaust system support, thus eliminating the need for catalyst replacement.
