Cabin Air Filter / Purifier: Service and Repair






Dust and Pollen Filter

Note the change interval for the dust and pollen filter. Refer to => Maintenance Intervals 03.

Filter element has an activated charcoal insert as integrated odor filter, refer to => [ Dust and Pollen Filter with Activated Charcoal Filter Unit ] .

Check fresh air intake and clean it and plenum chamber after replacing dust and pollen filter, refer to => [ Fresh Air Intake Housing ] .

Clean the surrounding area of the dust and pollen filter in heating & A/C unit shaft before installing a new filter.

On vehicles with driving school equipment, pedals of driving school equipment must be removed if necessary (depending on version, service disconnect points are present on driving school pedals. Refer to driving school equipment.

Removing

- Remove instrument panel trim under glove compartment. Refer to (Storage Compartments and Covers).

- Cover the floor mat under the A/C unit dust and pollen filter shaft in the front passenger footwell with paper.

- Remove bolts - A -.

- Remove cover - B -.






- Remove dust and pollen filter - C - from installation compartment of heating & A/C unit - A -.






- Clean installation compartment of dust and pollen filter - C - of heating & A/C unit - A - (for example, using a conventional vacuum cleaner) of leaves, dust and other contaminants.

Installing

- Check installation compartment for soiling, clean via installation compartment of heating & A/C unit if necessary.

- Insert dust and pollen filter - C - into compartment of heating & A/C unit, while doing this pay attention to the direction of flow (arrows on filter - D - point toward evaporator).

- Check seal on cover - B - for damage.

- Install cover - B -, ensure proper fit in mount while doing this.

- Install the remaining removed components again in reverse order.
