Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-49 dated February 1, 2013 for reasons listed.
Vehicle Information
Condition
^ Audi Side Assist deactivates itself immediately after the engine starts.
^ DTC C1115F2 (Lane change assistance control module 2 Function limitation due to insufficient voltage) is logged in the lane change assistance control module, J769 (3C).
Technical Background
The lane change assistance control module, J769 (3C), checks voltage after each engine on cycle. During this check, the voltage can be incorrectly reported which causes the DTC to set.
Production Solution
The software of the lane change assistance control module, J769 (3C), has been optimized to remove this condition.
Service
The service solution is to use an SVM code to update the software in the lane change assistance control module, J769 (3C).
1. Using VSD, check the software part numbers and software versions of the master and slave control modules for the lane change assistance system. Record this information on a piece of paper. The slave information will be labeled "Sub-Bus System" and is listed below the master information.
a. For software part numbers 8T0907566B and 8T0907568B, no service update is available. There is no known technical issue with these parts. Please contact the Technical Assistance Helpline for further assistance. This TSB does not apply.
b. For all vehicles with software part numbers 8T0907566A and 8T0907568A, a software update is available. Continue on to step 2.
2. If the software version of the master control module is 0040, update the lane change assistance master control module via SVM using the instructions in step 4.
3. If the software version of the master control module is 0047, no software update is available. Please contact the Technical Assistance Helpline for further assistance. This TSB does not apply.
4. SVM Update Instructions:
a. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
b. Update the lane change assistance control module using the SVM action code as listed in the table below, if necessary.
