Vehicle Information
Condition
The yellow steering symbol is illuminated in the instrument cluster. DTC C10ACFO (steering end stops not programmed) is logged in the power steering control unit, J500 (44).
Technical Background
The power steering control unit, J500 (44), expects to receive a VIN message over the data bus shortly after terminal 15 is turned on. If the VIN message is not received at the expected time, the power steering control unit assumes it has been installed in a new vehicle and discards the programmed end position values.
Production Solution
Optimization of the VIN message handling was implemented with power steering control unit, J500 (44), software level 0009.
