Vehicle Information

Condition





The customer complains that large amounts of water can be seen in the base of the fog lamp (Figure 1). No outside influence, such as rock chips, can be found. The fog lamps function normally.

Tip:
For customer complaints of only condensation buildup on fog lamp, refer to TSB 2012749 94 Exterior lights, moisture accumulation.

Technical Background

Under certain circumstances, water can enter through the ventilation opening on the back of the fog lamp.

Production Solution

A new water-repelling element is installed on the ventilation opening on the back of the fog lamp.

Service

Replace the affected front fog lamp only if a visible amount of water can be seen as being pooled up at the base of the fog lamp.
