Condition
Grinding noise coming from the HVAC blower motor.
Technical Background
The plastic stop on the adapter of the fresh air blower motor is damaged in production. As a result, the blower moves within its housing. This allows the blower impeller to make contact with the blower motor housing.
Production Solution
Improved stops in the blower motor housing.
Service
Remove the blower motor from the heating and ventilation unit. Refer to ElsaWeb >> Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning >> Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning >> 87 Air Conditioning >> Removal and Installation >> Fresh Air Blower V2. Check whether the blower impeller makes contact with the lower housing (Figure 2). If this is the case, replace the fresh air blower motor.
