Engine Compartment E-Box






Engine Compartment E-Box

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

Removing

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

Audi TTS, Audi TT with 3.2L MPI engine

- Remove the air filter housing.

All Vehicles

- Remove relay and fuse panel. Refer to => [ Relay and Fuse Panel In Engine Compartment E-box ] Relay and Fuse Panel In Engine Compartment E-Box.

Mark electrical wires on threaded connections for reinstallation.






- Remove nuts for electrical wires - 1 through 6 - on conductor rail.

- Release retaining springs - 3 and 4 - and remove engine compartment E-box - 1 - upward.






- Unclip rubber boot - 2 - from engine compartment E-box and remove relay and fuse panel through opening.

The exact assignment of the engine compartment E-box can be found in the applicable wiring diagram.

Installing






Tightening specification => [ Tightening specification, wires to E-box engine compartment ] [1][2]Diagrams.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Install electrical wires - 1 through 6 - on conductor rail according to markings.

- Install relay and fuse panel. Refer to => [ Relay and Fuse Panel In Engine Compartment E-box ] Relay and Fuse Panel In Engine Compartment E-Box.

- Install the air filter housing.

- Connect battery. Refer to => [ Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
