Components Outside of Passenger Compartment, Group 1






1 A/C Compressor Regulator Valve (N280)

2 A/C Compressor

Remove A/C compressor from and reinstall onto the bracket (4 or 6 cylinder engine). Refer to=> [ A/C Compressor, Removing From Bracket ] A/C Compressor, Removing From Bracket.

A/C Compressor, 5-Cylinder, removing from and installing on bracket). Refer to=> [ A/C Compressor, Removing From Bracket ] A/C Compressor, Removing From Bracket.

A/C compressor refrigerant line, disconnecting and reconnecting, refer to => [ A/C Compressor Refrigerant Lines ] A/C Compressor Refrigerant Lines.

Depending on time period of production and on engine, compressor construction type may vary. Refer to=> [ Refrigerant Circuit Components Overview ] Refrigerant Circuit Components Overview and Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

The A/C compressor on 5 cylinder vehicles have 2 ribbed belts. The A/C compressor has a belt pulley with a double belt guide.

Replace the belt pulley. Refer to=> [ A/C Compressor Belt Pulley, Replacement ] A/C Compressor Belt Pulley, Replacement.

3 Label

With specifications for type of refrigerant and designated fill capacity.

4 Plenum Chamber Water Drains

A water drain is installed at left and right in plenum chamber.

Removing and installing, checking and cleaning. Refer to=> [ Plenum Chamber Water Drain, Checking and Cleaning ] Service and Repair.

5 Forced Air Extractor

A forced air extraction vent is installed at left and right under rear bumper.

Sealing doors on air extraction vent must be able to move freely and close automatically.

In order for the passenger compartment ventilation to function properly, the air ducts that run through the luggage compartment trim must be unobstructed.

6 Heated Rear Window (Z1)

The command to heat the rear window is sent by the Climatronic control module (J255) via the Comfort databus system. The Heated Rear Window is controlled by the Vehicle electrical system control module (J519).

Removing and installing rear window.

On vehicles with a rear window defogger (Z1) , the button for using the rear window defogger on the Climatronic control module (J255) does not work. Refer to the vehicle owner's manual, pay attention to the version and coding on the vehicle electrical system control module (J519) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) in the "Guided Fault Finding" and.

7 Fluid Reservoir

May be removed only after draining refrigerant circuit. Bring vehicle to a workshop that has the necessary tools and where the work can be performed by qualified personnel.

The reservoir may be attached to or integrated in the condenser, depending on the version of the condenser. Refer to => [ Fluid Reservoir ] Fluid Reservoir and => [ Dryer Cartridge ] Description and Operation.

A condenser will be installed in a different version on 5 cylinder engines only, as opposed to vehicles with a 4 or 6 cylinder engine). The fluids reservoir (including the dryer cartridge) installed on this condenser is a different version that is currently unavailable as a spare part. 8 Condenser

May be removed only after draining refrigerant circuit. Bring vehicle to a workshop that has the necessary tools and where the work can be performed by qualified personnel.

Different versions (depending on vehicle equipment level), refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

9 Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17)

Measured value of Outside Air Temperature Sensor (G17) is evaluated by Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285) and transmitted via Comfort CAN-Bus system to Climatronic control module (J255). Check using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS5051B) in the "Guided Fault Finding".

Removing and Installing

- Remove the bumper cover.

- Disconnect connector on temperature sensor and unclip from mount in air duct.
