Brake Rotor/Disc: Service and Repair
Front Brake Rotor TT RS
• When removing, mark brake pads that will be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise braking effect will be uneven!
Removing
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the wheels.
• The brake pad wear wire is installed only in the left brake caliper.
- Remove the brake caliper. Refer to => [ Front Brake Caliper, TT RS ] Front Brake Caliper, TT RS.
• Do not let the brake caliper hang on the brake hose. Secure to the body with wire.
- Remove bolt - 7 -.
- Remove the brake rotor from the wheel hub.
• Do not tilt the brake rotor when removing it.
Installing
• Replace the bolt - 7 -.
- Clean the wheel hub and the brake rotor surfaces.
- Place the brake disc on the hub.
• Do not tilt the brake rotor when installing it.
- Tighten the new bolt - 7 - for the brake rotor to 4 Nm.
- Install the brake caliper. Refer to => [ Front Brake Caliper, TT RS ] Front Brake Caliper, TT RS.

- Lower vehicle.
- Check brake fluid level, and fill if necessary.
Before moving vehicle, depress brake pedal several times firmly to properly seat brake pads in their normal operating position.
Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
