Rear Brake Caliper Assembly Overview
1 - Bolt
• Self-locking
• Always replace after removal.
• When loosening and tightening, counter-hold at guide pin.
• 35 Nm
2 - Bleeder Screw
• Apply a thin coat of lithium grease (G 052 150 A2) to the threads before screwing in.
• 10 Nm
3 - Protective Cap
4 - Guide Pins
• Grease before pulling on protective cap.
5 - Protective Cap
• Pull onto brake carrier and guide pin.
6 - Brake Carrier with Guide Pins and Protective Cap
• Supplied as an assembled replacement part with sufficient grease on guide pins.
• If protective caps or guide pins are damaged, install repair kit. Use supplied grease packet to lubricate guide pins.
7 - Protective Cap
• Pull onto piston with outer sealing lip
8 - Piston with Automatic Adjustment
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Brake Caliper Piston ] Rear Brake Caliper Piston.
• Apply thin coat of lithium grease (G 052 150 A2) to piston.
9 - Seal
• Do not damage when installing piston.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Rear Brake Caliper Piston ] Rear Brake Caliper Piston.
10 - Brake Caliper Housing with Parking Brake Cable Lever
• Replace if leaking at parking brake cable lever.
• Pre-bleed caliper housing after repairing. Refer to => [ Pre-Bleed Brake Caliper ] Rear Brake Caliper Piston.
