Hood - TT RS, Hood Lock Control Cable Mount







Hood Lock Control Cable Mount

Removing






- Remove the engine compartment E-box cover by pushing both bars in the direction of - arrow -.

- Push foam grommet - 7 - on control cable mount - 6 - to the side.






- Cut through the cable tie - arrow -.

- Release the retaining clips and open the cover.

- Remove control cable bracket - 3, 4, 5 - from control cable mount - 1 -.

- Detach the control cable fitting for the lid lock from connecting piece - 2 -.

- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover.






- Remove lower A pillar trim.

- Remove hood control cable - 2 - from bracket - 1 - and remove at the idler pulley - arrow -.

- Detach control cable fitting - 3 - from operating lever - 4 -.

- Remove windshield wiper arms.






- Remove the bolts - 3 - and - 4 -.

- Remove rubber seal - 1 -.

There is a risk of damaging the plenum chamber cover.

Coat the transition between the windshield and water plenum cover with soap solution.

- Pull plenum chamber cover - 2 - vertically up from the window edge starting carefully with the windshield catches - arrows -.

- Remove cover - 4 - and remove the control cable from retaining clip - 3 -.






- Pull sealing grommet - 1 - with control cable - 2 - from the body opening.

- Remove the mount for the lid lock control cables.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Install the plenum chamber cover. Refer to => [ Plenum Chamber Cover ] Plenum Chamber Cover.

- Install the engine compartment E-box cover.

- Attach control cable fitting - 3 - in operating lever - 4 -.






- Conduct hood control cable - 2 - over the idler pulley - arrow - and press it into bracket - 1 -.

- Installing the lower A-pillar trim.

- Installing the instrument panel cover on the driver side.
