Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter (G130) and Heater for Oxygen Sensor 1 after Catalytic Converter (Z29)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set (3337)

Removing

- Remove right cover from underbody.

- Disconnect the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) after Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) and the heater for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 1 after catalytic converter connectors.






- Remove the O2S after TWC - 1 - using a tool from the (3337).






Installing

Note the following when installing:

New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into the slots of the oxygen sensor body.

For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with oxygen sensor slots. Hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog.

Always install the oxygen sensor wire in the same location so it does not come into contact with the exhaust pipe.
