Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair






Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor 2 (G754)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

The 7-speed S-Tronic transmission 0B5 has an additional transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 to monitor the transmission fluid temperature of the wheel set on certain engine versions.

Installed location: In place of the Manual Transmission Fluid (MTF) drain plug.

Procedure






Transmission Installed

- Remove the rear noise insulation - 2 -.

There is a risk of damaging the transmission.

Without any or with too little manual transmission fluid inside the transmission:

Do not start the engine and

Do not tow the vehicle

Transmission Removed

The transmission is secured to the engine/transmission holder. Refer to => [ Securing on Engine and Transmission Holder ] Securing On Engine and Transmission Holder.-

Transmission, Removed or Installed

- Place the (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from transmission fluid temperature sensor 2.






Protect the connector - 2 - and the contacts on transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 from transmission fluid. Clean the connectors immediately if they come in contact with transmission fluid (MTF). Transmission fluid can cause contact problems in the connector contacts.

- Remove transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 - 1 -.

- Drain the transmission fluid (MTF).

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specification: Transmission fluid temperature sensor 2 to transmission, 45 Nm

- Attach the wiring harness to the transmission - arrows -.

- Fill with MTF.

- Clean the transmission and tunnel crossmember.
