Condition
^ Clicking or knocking noise when pressing the clutch pedal.

^ Impulse noticeable when pressing the clutch pedal.

Technical Background
Excess clearance between mounting of clutch master cylinder and pedal assembly.

Production Solution
Not Applicable

Service
Replace mounting on clutch pedal and attach felt pieces on mounting to remove clearance.

1. Remove the mounting on the clutch pedal (Figure 3) according to the repair manual and discard.





2. From part number: 533 867 910 A cut two felt pieces 16mm long. (Figure 1)





3. On the short side cut into the felt pieces to approximately half the length (Figure 2)





4. While holding the mounting (part number: 1K0 721 357 A) closed, as shown in Figure 3, install felt strip onto both sides of mounting.





5. Install the felt a distance of 7 mm from tip on the depressed mounting on both sides. (Figure 4).

Tip: Figure 4 shows the relaxed condition of the mounting.

6. Install the mounting on the clutch pedal according to the repair manual.
