Hydraulic Oil Cooler, RS 5

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose clamps up to 25 mm diameter (3094)

Hose clamp pliers (V.A.G 1275)

Removing

- Turn off ignition.

- Remove the front bumper cover.

- Disconnect the connector - A - from the A/C pressure/temperature sensor (G395) - B - and free up the wire.






- Clamp the hydraulic lines with (3094).






- Remove the clamps - 1 -.






- Remove the hydraulic lines from the hydraulic fluid cooler.

- Open the retainers - arrows A - and remove the left air guide - 1 - - arrow B -.






- Remove the bolts - 2 - and the hydraulic fluid cooler - 1 -.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following when doing this. Refer to => [ Hydraulic Fluid Cooler to Condenser - RS 5 ] Lines and Hoses Overview.

- The markings - 2 - on the hose line must point upward in the 12 o'clock position.






Counterhold the pipes when connecting the lines.

- Top off hydraulic oil.

- Clean any oiled places.

- Bleed the steering. Refer to => [ Steering, Bleeding After Replacing ] Service and Repair.

- Check power steering fluid level. Refer to => [ Power Steering Fluid Level, Checking ] Power Steering Fluid Level, Checking.

- Check all open line connections for leaks. Refer to => [ Steering, Checking for Leaks ] Steering, Checking For Leaks.

- Install the front lock carrier cover.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate to the model. Refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).
