Seat Position Sensor With Seat Occupied Sensor For Belt Fastening Detection
Seat Position Sensor with Seat Occupied Sensor for Belt Fastening Detection
The seat position sensor is provided as a replacement part with the wiring harness and the black 10-pin connector. The following wires with connectors are contained in the wiring harness:
• Wire with seat belt latch coupling connector (driver seat)
• Wire with seat belt latch coupling connector (passenger seat)
• Wire with front passenger seat occupied sensor (G128) coupling connector.
Removing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Remove the front seat:
• Standard seat and Sport seat (manual), refer to => [ Manual Standard Front Seat ] Manual Standard Front Seat.
• Standard and Sport Power Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Front Seat ] Power Standard Front Seat.
- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Installing the Front Seat on VAS 6136 ] Installing the Front Seat On VAS 6136.
- Remove the bolt - 3 -.
- Disengage the hook - arrow - on the seat position sensor - 2 - from the seat pan lower frame - 1 -.
- Open the corrugated tube and remove the wire with the 10-pin seat belt latch connector.
• Coupling station harness connectors, refer to => [ Connector Station Connectors ] Connector Station Connectors.
• Modular wiring with corrugated tube on front seat. refer to => [ Modular Wire Routing with Ridged Tube on Front Seat ] Modular Wire Routing With Ridged Tube On Front Seat.
Driver Seat:
- Open the cable ties or cable clips up to the electrical connector - 1 -.
- Disconnect electrical connector.
2 Wire to the black 10-pin connector and driver seat position sensor (G553)
3 Wire to the seat belt latch
• The connector - 1 - with the wire and cable clip remain on the seat pan upper frame.
- Remove the seat position sensor with the wires from the seat pan lower frame.
Front Passenger Seat:
- Open the cable ties or cable clips up to the electrical connectors - 2 - and - 6 -.
- Disconnect electrical connectors.
1 Wire to the seat belt latch
3 Wire to the black 10-pin connector and seat belt latch
4 Wire to the black 10-pin connector and passenger seat position sensor (G554)
5 Wire to the front passenger seat occupied sensor (G128)
• The connectors - 2 - and - 6 - with wires and wire clips remain on the seat pan upper frame.
- Remove the seat position sensor with the wires from the seat pan lower frame.
Installation
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components ] Description and Operation.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:
• Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
- Connect the battery Ground (GND) cable with the ignition turned on.
• If the airbag indicator lamp (K75) indicates a fault after installation, check the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, erase it and check it again.
