AWD Control Module, Additional Work after Replacing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
• Perform the following only if the All Wheel Drive (AWD) control module (J492) was replaced.
- Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and turn on the ignition.
- Select 22 - Replace Control Module in the vehicle diagnostic tester under Guided Functions in directory 22 - AWD Electronics
• Follow all the instructions in the (VAS 5051) exactly.
Using the vehicle diagnostic tester, "adapt" the rear final drive, which was just installed, to the AWD control module.
• A system check takes place after 22 - Replace Control Module finishes. Use "Guided Fault Finding" to correct any malfunctions that may have been detected.
