LED Tail Lamps, Through MY 2011

Backup Lamp Bulb (M16)/(M17), (M72)/(M77)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Observe the notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

Removing






- Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.

- Turn the light switch into "0" position.

- Pry the cover - 1 - out using a (3409) - arrow -.

- Remove the nut - 2 - and the clamping bracket - 1 -.






- Unlock the bulb socket - 3 -: on the left tail lamp, turn counterclockwise - arrow -; on the right tail lamp, turn clockwise.

- Pull the bulb socket out of the tail lamp.

- Remove the backup lamp bulb from the socket.

Installing

• Tightening specification, refer to => [ Inner Lamps ] Inner Lamps.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Insert the new bulb in the socket without touching the bulb with bare hands.

- Slide the large clamping bracket - 1 - onto the threaded pins on the inner tail lamp and tighten the nut - 2 -.

• When tightening the nut, the clamping bracket wedges itself onto the rear lid.
