Cigarette Lighter (U1)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Release tool (T40148)

Removing






- Remove the cigarette lighter illumination (L28). Refer to => [ Cigarette Lighter Illumination Bulb (L28) ] Cigarette Lighter Illumination Bulb (L28).

- The release tabs - 2 - on the (T40148) must engage in the openings on the cigarette lighter outlet - item 3 - - arrow - and the threaded pin - 1 - must slide down as far as the stop.

- Slide the (T40148) into the cigarette lighter - item 1 - as far as the stop.






- Rotate the thumbwheel - 2 - on the (T40148) clockwise as far as the stop.

• The piston - 2 - is pulled upward and the release tabs - 1 - on the (T40148) spread - arrows -.






- Remove the cigarette lighter from the lighting ring using the (T40148).

- Release the clips in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Remove the cigarette lighter outlet with the illumination ring - 1 - from the front ashtray - 2 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Risk of injury.

• After removing the (T40148) , check to see if the lighter retaining tabs are bent.

• If the retaining tabs are bent, bend them back so the lighter does not slide out.

- Remove the support - 1 - from the (T40148).






- Slide the piston down and hold it in place.

- Rotate the thumbwheel - 4 - on the (T40148) counterclockwise - arrow -. This loosens the release tabs - 2 - on the cigarette lighter outlet - item 3 - so the (T40148) can be removed.

- Slide the cigarette lighter illumination ring into the mount until the retaining clips engage.

• The illumination ring can only be inserted in the mount in one position.
