Latch Drive Motor

Removing






- Remove the front trim. Refer to => [ Front Trim ] Front Trim.

- Remove the bolts - 1 - from the retaining strip - 2 - for the convertible top cover/convertible top headliner - arrows -.

- Remove the retaining strip - 1 - to the side - arrow - from the convertible top cover/convertible top headliner.






- Disconnect the central connector.






- Lift the securing tabs to remove the bracket - 2 - for the convertible top latch switch (F169) / (F294) - 1 - from the convertible top lock - 3 -.

- Release the locking spring - 1 - and remove the lock rod from the ball pin on the convertible top latch drive motor - 3 -.






- Remove the bolts - 2 - while, at the same time, counterholding the nut by hand between the front rail and the convertible top cover.

If the nut is not counterheld, it will fall out of the mount.

- Remove the convertible top latch drive motor and free up the wiring harness from the front rail.

Installation

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Latch Overview ] Latch Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Open and close the convertible top lock one time to center the drive using a 6 mm SW hex socket wrench.

- Install the convertible top headliner. Refer to => [ Headliner ] Headliner.

- Install the front trim. Refer to => [ Front Trim ] Front Trim.
