MMI Digital Sound System Control Module (J525)

The digital sound system control module is located behind the luggage compartment left side trim on the top of the Infotainment rack.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective Cap for Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

Use the Vehicle diagnostic tester.

- Turn off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

Removing

- Remove the luggage compartment left side trim..

The Infotainment rack can only be removed once the convertible top hydraulic pump in the luggage compartment is moved.

- Release the bracket and the necessary connectors on the hydraulic pump.

The hydraulic lines are not affected. Do not disconnect them.

- Swivel the hydraulic pump in the luggage compartment.

- Loosen the nuts - 1, 2, 3 and 4 - on the infotainment rack - 6 -.






- Swivel the rack - 6 - in the luggage compartment.

- Disconnect the MOST bus connector - 4 - from the digital sound system control module - 1 -.






- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.






- Unlock and disconnect the connectors - 3 - from the digital sound system control module - 1 -.

- Loosen the screws - arrows - on the rack - 2 - and swivel the digital sound system control module - 1 - out of the luggage compartment.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
