94 13 15

2027755/2

April 19, 2013

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 11-59 dated December 7, 2011 for reasons listed below.

Vehicle Information

Condition

Customer may report:

Bugs are trapped inside the rear taillight housing.

Workshop findings:

Bugs can be seen inside the housing, and there are no external markings indicating the taillight has been hit or has been previously damaged due to outside influence (Figure 1).

Technical Background

Bugs are able to enter the taillight housing because the seal around the housing is not tight enough.

Production Solution

The seal for the taillight housing is optimized.

Service

1. Clear out bugs and debris from taillight housing (this can be done with dry compressed air).

2. Replace the seal on the taillight housing with the new optimized seal (4L0945191B). The new seal can be used with either the right or left taillight housing.
