Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (G62)

Removing






• Engine cold.

- Open the cap on the coolant reservoir to release any pressure in the coolant system and then close it again.

- Remove the front engine cover - 1 - upward.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






• Use a cloth to catch any leaking coolant.

- Remove retaining clip - 2 - and ECT Sensor.

• Ignore - arrow -.

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

• Replace the O-ring.

• To prevent loosing coolant, install the new ECT Sensor right away into the front coolant pipe.

- Check the coolant level => [ Check the coolant level. ] Service and Repair.
