Pedal Parking Brake Lever Gas-Filled Strut






Pedal Parking Brake Lever Gas-Filled Strut

It is not necessary to remove any trim in order to remove/install the gas-filled strut.

The gas-filled strut is clipped into the two mounts - arrows - on the pedal parking brake.






Removing

- Lift the gas-filled strut spring - arrow - at the lower ball pin on the pedal parking brake using a small screwdriver.






- Remove the gas-filled strut from the ball pin - 2 -.

- Turn the gas-filled strut slightly downward.

- Lift the gas-filled strut spring - arrow - at the upper ball pin on the pedal parking brake using a small screwdriver.

- Remove the gas-filled strut from the ball pin - 2 -.

Installing

Make sure the push rod is attached correctly - arrows - to the pedal.






Both the upper and lower spring must be pushed into the mounts - arrow -.






- Push the upper gas-filled strut mount into the ball pin - 2 -. The mount must audibly lock into place when doing this.

- Align the gas-filled strut back and forth.

- Push the lower gas-filled strut mount into the ball pin - 2 -. The mount must audibly lock into place when doing this.
