Wiper Control Module: Service and Repair

Windshield Wiper Motor with Wiper Motor Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Assembly Tool (T10118)

Removing






- Remove windshield wiper arm - 1 - and - 3 -, refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Windshield Wiper Arms.

- Remove rubber seal - 5 - and remove plenum chamber cover - 4 -.

Danger of damaging the plenum chamber cover.

• Coat the transition between the windshield and cowl panel trim - 2 - with some soapy water and carefully pull the cowl panel trim vertically out of the retainer on the windshield beginning at the edge of the window.

- Carefully remove plenum chamber cover - 2 - from catch on windshield.

- Remove engine cover.

- Remove screws - arrows -, rotate wiper crank if necessary.






- Completely remove windshield wiper frame - 2 -.

- Disconnect electrical connector - 1 - with (T10118).

Installing






Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Check whether all rubber bushings - 2 - are seated correctly in mounts on wiper frame - 1 -, press into mounts if necessary.

- Insert wiper motor with wiper frame into vehicle.






- Next, hand-tighten screws and then tighten to torque specification in - 1 to 4 - sequence.

- Tighten the screws - arrows - in the center of the partition panel.

- Adjust wiper arms, refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arms, Adjusting ] Windshield Wiper Arms, Adjusting.
