Starter

Observe notes on contact corrosion => [ Contact Corrosion ] Contact Corrosion.

Removing






- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove screws and remove the noise insulation in the front - 1 - and in the rear - 2 -.

- Remove catalytic converter bolts - 2 -.






• Disregard item - 1 -.

- Remove bolt - 2 - and nuts - 1 -.






- Remove B+ line bracket and catalytic converters.

- Remove heat shield boot from the starter.

- Remove protective caps.






- Remove wires - 2 - and - 3 -.

- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 4 - and remove starter.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

• When installing, install cable ties at same location.

- Install catalytic converter bracket.

- Connect battery. Refer to => [ Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
