Starter

Observe notes on contact corrosion => [ Contact Corrosion ] Contact Corrosion.

Removing






- Remove the generator. Refer to => [ Generator ] Generator.

- Remove the right engine mount.

- Remove the bolt - 3 - and free up the ground cable - 2 -.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the right engine support - 1 -.

- Remove the nut - 1 - and screw - 2 -.






- Disconnect the electrical connector - 4 - by sliding the retainer back and pressing the release down.

- Pry off the cap (if equipped) and remove the B+ wire - 3 -.

- Remove the bolt - 5 - and remove the starter.

Installing






Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- If the vehicle has an automatic transmission, make sure the seal - 1 - fits correctly inside the starter opening before installing the starter.

• The seal must cover the opening for the starter - 2 - - arrow -.

- Starter to transmission.

- Install the engine support and the right engine mount.

- Install the generator. Refer to => [ Generator ] Generator.

- Connect battery. Refer to => [ Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
