Power Adjustable Steering Column Switch: Service and Repair

Steering column adjustment switch (E167)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• T8 Screwdriver (T40056 A)

Removing






- Adjust steering wheel downward and to rear as far as possible, use entire adjustment range of steering column adjustment for this.

- Remove gap cover - 1 - in - direction of arrow -.

- Remove screws - 4 - with (T40056 A).

- Remove screws - 7 -.

- Separate top trim - 2 - for steering column switches from bottom trim - 3 - and remove both parts.

- Disconnect electrical harness connector at lower trim.

• Ignore items - 5 , 6 -.

• For the sake of illustration, shown with steering wheel removed.

- Remove screws - arrows - and remove Steering Column Adjustment Switch - item 1 - upward out of lower trim.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Insert top trim piece for steering column switch into catches of bottom trim piece, press together and bolt.
