Fuel System, Bleeding

Vehicles with the Engine Code CATA from June 2010.

• Due to the engine design and the fuel supply pump installed in the fuel tank, do not bleed the fuel system.

• The fuel system bleeds itself when the starter is operated.

Vehicles with Engine Code CATA through May 2010.

Letting the high pressure pump run dry will destroy it.

• If the fuel filter, fuel lines, the auxiliary fuel pump (V393) are being replaced, then be sure to bleed the fuel system before starting the engine for the first time.

- Bleed the fuel system.
