Emissions - AdBlue(R) Residue On Exhaust Flange

26 White AdBlue Buildup Seen on Exhaust Mounting Flange - P20F4, P20F5

26 11 05

2027280/2

August 4, 2011

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 26 number 11 - 04 dated July 27, 2011 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

Condition
White dried/crystallized AdBlue residue is seen originating from the flange which the AdBlue injector is attached.

Technical Background

"Sweating" of the AdBlue from this connection is acceptable. Do not replace the AdBlue injector for this condition. Only replace the injector if a gross leak causes liquid AdBlue to leak off of the flange onto the ground. Crystallization of the AdBlue at this flange does not indicate a technical problem. The residue can be cleaned manually, but no removal of the dosing valve is required unless necessary to inspect for injector operation.
