Backrest Adjustment Lever Cable







Backrest Adjustment Lever Cable

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Special pop rivet pliers (V.A.G 1753A)






Removing

- Remove seat or seat bench.

Individual seat: => [ 2nd Row, 2-Seater Assembly Overview ] 2nd Row, 2-Seater Assembly Overview

Two-thirds bench seat: => [ 2nd Row, 3-Seater Assembly Overview ] 2nd Row, 3-Seater Assembly Overview

- Remove seat cushion.

Individual seat: => [ Seat Cushion ] Seat Cushion

Two-thirds bench seat: => [ Bench Seat Cushion ] Bench Seat Cushion

- Remove outer part of left side trim. Refer to => [ Left Side Trim Panel, Outer Part ] Left Side Trim Panel, Outer Part.

Make sure the backrest is locked (zero position) or it could tip forward accidentally.

- Drill out pop rivet - 7 -.






- Remove spring clip - 3 -.

- Remove idler pulley - 2 - and protective cap - 1 -.

- Disengage cable - 4 - at seat frame - arrow A - and at backrest adjustment lever - arrow B -.

- Remove retaining plate - 6 - from seat frame.

- Remove cable - 4 - together with guide rollers - 5 -.

Installation






Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Note installation location of guide rollers - 5 - on cable - 4 -.

Closed housing ring must face in direction of retaining plate - 6 -.
