Condition
Customer complains the hood is showing open in the Driver Information System, but the hood is fully closed.
Technical Background
Incorrect routing of the hood latch wiring.
Production Solution
Revised routing and improved harness wrapping.
Service
1. The suspect area is accessible in the drivers side of the engine compartment (Figure 1).
2. Remove the retaining clip (Figure 2, A) on the harness in the L/F wheel well going into the engine compartment and inspect the area near the body structure for any damage (Figure 2, B). Repair any wires as necessary and rewrap the harness.
3. Reinstall the retaining clip on the underside of the body structure as shown in Figure 3.
4. Verify the hood now registers closed correctly.
