Affected Vehicles
Condition
This RVU has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:
Battery drained from rear lid control module and gateway not going to sleep.
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) is in effect until removed.
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 97V5 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
^ Vehicle must be within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.
Technical Background
On sporadic occasions it may not be possible to switch on the ignition of some Audi vehicles manufactured within a specific period.
Production Solution
On the vehicles affected, a software update must be carried out for various control units according to the criteria listed.
Service
Before performing this RVU, check ElsaWeb for Open Criteria. ALL open criteria must be completed.
Note:
Perform the section(s) that apply to the vehicle based on the Open Applicable Criteria ID(s).
Applicable Criteria ID(s) (Figure 1, arrow 1) and "Open" (Figure 1, arrow 2) is shown in Campaign/Action Status under the Campaigns/Actions tab in ElsaWeb.
SVM Update Instructions
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the affected control units using the SVM action code 97V5A001.
