Rear Cigarette Lighter Illumination Bulb

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Release Tool (T40148)

Removal






- Remove the mount for the cigarette lighter and the socket.

- The release tabs - 2 - on the release tool (T40148) must engage in the openings in the cigarette light - 3 - - arrow - and the threaded pin - 1 - must slide down as far as the stop.

- Open the cover - 3 - for the 12 V socket.






- Release the tab - 4 - and free up the connector - 5 - on the mount.

- Remove the cigarette lighter - 6 -.

- Slide the (T40148) into the cigarette lighter - 1 - as far as the stop.

- Rotate the thumb-wheel - 2 - on the (T40148) clockwise as far as the stop.

• The piston - 2 - is pulled upward and the release tabs - 1 - on the (T40148) spread - arrows -.






- Remove the cigarette lighter from the lighting ring with bulb using the (T40148).

- Open the clips - arrows -.






- Remove the cigarette lighter and illumination ring - 1 - from the mount - 2 -.

- Guide the wire through the mount.

Installation






Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

Risk of injury.

• After removing the (T40148) , check to see if the lighter retaining tabs are bent.

• If the retaining tabs are bend, bend them back so the lighter does not slide out.

- Remove the support - 1 - on the (T40148).

- Slide the piston down and hold it in place.

- Rotate the thumb-wheel - 4 - on the (T40148) counterclockwise - arrow -. This loosens the release tabs - 2 - on the cigarette lighter - item 3 - so the (T40148) can be removed.

- Install the mount for the cigarette lighter and the socket.
