Generator
Observe notes on contact corrosion, refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Contact Corrosion.
Removal
- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Service and Repair.
- Release the tension on the ribbed belt and remove it from the generator pulley.
- Remove the front wheel spoiler.
- Remove the nut - 1 -.
- Cut the cable ties - 3 and 4 - and remove the wiring harness bracket - 2 -.
- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the Oil level thermal sensor (G266).
- Free up the wiring harness - 3 - on the generator - arrows -.
- Remove the nuts - 4 and 5 - and bolts - 2 and 6 -.
- Remove the nut - 1 - and remove the B+ wire - 2 -.
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 3 -.
- Remove the generator - 4 - from the threaded pins.
Installation
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Generator Overview ] Generator Overview, => [ Battery Jump Start Terminal and Positive Terminal Grip Overview ] Battery Jump Start Terminal and Positive Terminal Grip Overview.
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
- Install the ribbed belt.
- Make sure the ribbed belt is on securely and is routed correctly.
- Connect the battery. Refer to => [ Connecting ] Service and Repair.
- Start the engine and check the ribbed belt routing.
